About us

An initiative of Voluntary Arts Ireland and Culture Northern Ireland, Art Take Part is an online search facility and guide providing people with information about the many local arts activities they can take part in across Northern Ireland.

Voluntary Arts Ireland promotes practical participation in the arts and crafts so as to contribute to an empowered, participative, fulfilled and healthy civil society. It has three main aims:

1. More people participating in the arts
2. More sustainable, self-organised, voluntary arts groups
3. Connecting voluntary arts groups and individual participants to their communities

Voluntary Arts Ireland celebrates the contribution of participatory arts to the well-being of communities, social inclusion, lifelong learning, active citizenship, volunteering and the arts in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. It is an initiative of Voluntary Arts which links us to similar bodies in England, Scotland and Wales.

Culture Northern Ireland is NI's leading arts and cultural website, covering music, literature, heritage, sport, dance, theatre, the visual arts and much more besides. With thousands of articles, reviews, profiles, event listings, and multimedia content, CNI is a unique and exciting resource. It is produced by the Nerve Centre, an award-winning 'cultural factory' in Derry / Londonderry.
