Be Inspired

Art Take Part is one of the outstanding projects granted the London 2012 Inspire mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme which recognises exceptional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Games. The Inspire programme is an opportunity for everyone to be a part of the London 2012 Games; a broad participation programme spanning sport participation, education, sustainability, volunteering and business opportunities and skills.

At Art Take Part we are inspired by the fact that London 2012 has reclaimed the cultural element of the Olympic ethos. We are also inspired by the enthusiasm and commitment of the many young people from Northern Ireland who organise and participate in arts activities. As part of the Art Take Part project we would like to take this inspiration and engage more young people in arts participation so as to help contribute to a healthier civil society in Northern Ireland.

Seb Coe, chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, said: 'Art Take Part is encouraging young people and others to fulfil their potential. I am proud that with the help of partners such as Voluntary Arts Ireland and Culture Northern Ireland we are delivering on our vision to use the power of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games to boost participation in the arts.'

You can get involved and help us get as many young people as possible to take part in the arts. Here's how:

1. Check out the inspirational 'personal best' in the arts videos and stories made by young people.
2. Set up your own arts event with your friends and video it.
3. Send the video and your story into info@arttakepart.org and we will showcase the best every month on the Art Take Part site.
4. Spread the word – link with us and share your video on Facebook and YouTube.
